Natural Health Tip of the Month - SIMPLE Way to De-Stress and Have Glowing Skin

We all know that when life is especially stressful that our skin shows the wear and tear on our faces. How embarrassing!! And who ISN'T stressed out these days??!!

One way to both look AND feel a little better is to devote a few minutes in your busy schedule to reducing stress.

Now there are lots of ways you can do this, but most are just way too time consuming. I want to share with you one really fantastic, simple, and quick way to rejuvenate!

I learned this tip from my husband who has started to do yoga regularly. (By the way, he looks fantastic!! Yoga is really a wonderful natural health support.)

He told me about a fun Restorative Yoga pose that quickly refreshes your whole body. You'll also find that your skin is glowing after you do this for a few minutes!!

It's easier to show you rather than write it all out, so I've found a short video that illustrates exactly how to do this and why it is so helpful!

Product Review and FREE Giveaway - MyChelle G2 Firming Serum

Mychelle G2 Firming Serum is a relatively new product that I tried earlier this year. It's amazing, as the company has managed to make a safe and natural product that works really well. It does noticeably lift and firm your skin pretty much right away!

It's always great to see 'instant results', and I absolutely loved this and used it every day, until I switched to my current wholesale skincare products.

For those of you who might be familiar with the brand, I've done a review of the MyChelle product line which tells you a little about this company and their skincare products.

Benefits of MyChelle G2 Firming Serum

  • Very effective, noticeable results

  • Safe, no parabens, toxins or added fragrance

  • A bottle lasts a while

  • 15% savings for regular re-orders from Amazon

Drawbacks of MyChelle G2 Firming Serum

  • The botanicals have a scent that I find less than pleasing, although it has no added fragrance

  • Like many anti-aging skincare products, it is more expensive than some of our other recommended safe products

  • Although Mychelle products were made for sensitive skin, some people may react to the natural botanical ingredients

  • As far as I know, Mychelle is only available in the U.S.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Glycerin* (Vegetable), Lycium Barbarum (Goji Berry) Fruit Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (amino acid chain), Lactobacillus/Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract (Pomegranate), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil (Rose), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil*, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil*, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum (Fermented sugar), Potassium Sorbate (Potassium Salt), Citric Acid (citrus) (* Certified Organic)

FREE Giveaway Details

If you've been following this newsletter for a while, you may have heard me talk about getting busier and having less time! It's exciting that more and more people are finding our site helpful for their sensitive skin care, and so I've been trying to find ways to continue to help all the people that are struggling with sensitive skin.

One of the big requests I get from people is to have more skin care product reviews on the site. I always want to do more reviews, however my own skin is so sensitive that I can only try and review new products once or twice a year at the most.

That's where you come in {!firstname_fix}! Do you have a safe, natural skin care product that you've tried that you think other people with sensitive skin might like?

If so, please share with us!

Not only will you helping others who struggle with sensitive skin, but between now and September 1, I will be sending a free bottle of MyChelle G2 Firming Serum to the person who writes the best most helpful product review!

This is a $55 value! If you live outside the U.S. I'll need you to chip in for the international shipping, but the bottle itself is free! :-)

Here are the Free Giveaway Guidelines

  • Your review must be at least 300 words and in good English.

  • Please provide your e-mail address in the space provided for e-mail alerts when you complete your review so that we can notify you if you have been chosen! (You won't get any other mail except for this.)

  • The product you review MUST be relatively safe and non-toxic, and useful to people with sensitive skin. That means no parabens or irritants such as those listed here on our safe cosmetics page.

  • Please share where your skin was before you used this product and then what happened after you used this product.

  • Please share all details that would help another reader with sensitive skin to decide whether this product would be helpful for their skin ... for example, how to use it, where is it available, and what you liked best about it.

On September 1, 2010 I'll choose the BEST review and send you your free bottle of MyChelle G2 Firming Serum!

If you live outside the U.S. I'll need you to chip in for the international shipping, but the bottle itself will be free! :-)

Cleure Shampoo Update

Some of you, like me, might have tried to purchase the renowned and amazing Cleure Hypoallergenic Shampoo when it was out of stock. Well, it's finally back ... yay!!!

It's still the best hypoallergenic shampoo (and conditioner) I've found! See my Before and After pictures on our hypoallergenic shampoo page. I find the Cleure hair care produces the shiniest and cleanest results with the least amount of shampoo!

New Home Recipe for Sensitive Skin

Did you know that there are certain foods that can help protect your skin against sun damage? Yes, those nice healthy veggies and fruits I am always telling you about are anti-oxidant rich foods that your skin absolutely LOVES, especially when there's a lot of sun and environmental stress. They can help to neutralize free radicals that cause sun damage and aging.

Natural Foods For Sun Protection!

Now the great thing about these foods is you can eat (or drink) them, AND apply to your skin! (Most of them at least!!)

Green tea is especially good for sun protection, as research indicates that it can help to block sun damage. If the caffeine bothers you, try drinking decaffeinated, or you can use the tea directly on your skin instead of taking it internally! (Always do a skin test FIRST)

Blueberries, Raspberries and Cherries are very high in skin protecting ingredients such as ellagic acid, queritrin and isoqueritrin, and are potent natural anti-inflammatories. Eat and also apply some to your skin!

Oranges, Lemons and Limes contain limonene and bioflavanoids (especially in the rinds) which help to detoxify the body and inhibit the formation of tumors. Some of these can be more irritating to sensitive skin if applied directly to the skin, so always do a skin test first.

Dark Leafy Green Vegetables like kale, spinach, and collard greens contain lutein and zeaxanthin are best for your skin when eaten in the form of lightly steamed, or added raw to juice or smoothies. These not only protect your skin but are also great for the health of your eyes!

Now, obviously you'll also want to use a good sunscreen and a hat when you're in the sun a lot, but isn't it great to know that you can help things along? :-)

{!firstname_fix}, I hope you have a great month! As always, please let me know how we can assist you with your sensitive skin!

Blessings and best wishes,
