Healthy Food?

Dear Mashubi,
Thank you for your lovely comments on my page.
For years I have followed a whole food healthy diet and have discovered my own food intolerances along the way. Each time adjusting my diet and getting some relief. I have a very good book on Nutritional Medicine which has been like a bible to me over the years. There is a section in the book on Salicylates and an exclusion diet to follow. Over the years I have glanced at the chapter but felt I was excluding so many other things from my diet that I just couldn't face giving up some of the healthy fruit and vegetables I love to eat.
It was only recently that I was looking through the book for a friend and yet once again I came across the chapter on Salicylates - I think someone up there was trying to tell me something!!! - I read the chapter again and started to think about my health patterns over the past 40 years and decided that seeing as I had tried most eating plans going what did I have too loose by trying this diet for a week or two?
Well the rest I guess is history!
I am amazed at how quickly the diet has started having such a positive effect on my health. It just goes to show that the media press gang us into eating all these healthy fruit and veg with very little knowledge of their true effects on our bodies and that there can not be a one 'diet' fits all approach to our health and well being. I must admit I would never have thought that the humble broccoli, which I so loved was doing me more harm than good. It might be classed as a superfood for many but for me and all of us who suffer from salicylate sensitivity it is far from super.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for setting up this site and giving your time and love to keeping it going - it is a great source of inspiration and support to me and has certainly given me hope for a brighter, healthier future. Thank you so much. Best wishes. Bronwen
