Since my mid 20's my skin has developed mild acne. I started to use mineral base products and it has help. Lately I have been getting hives popping up on my face, then about 30 mins later it turn into a raised red bump?? My soaps, moisturizer, makeup has not changed. its hard to work with the public when I have a huge red hive (white in the middle) on my chin or forehead, where ever and it itches so much! Any ideas what is causing this?

Recently, end of summer, I began getting hives on different parts of my body. I saw a Dermatologist who gave me an ointment but i was told not to use it often because it will thin out the skin. I have looked at medications that i take, Zoloft, Zocore, sometimes Tylenol PM to sleep and have started taking Zrytec to control the hives, which it does to some extent. I use Basis soap on my face , which thankfully does not break out ,but i do use it on the rest of my body. Also just washed some personal laundry in Woolite. I have just broke on my hands and lower arms. So while that might be part of the problem , that is not a everyday occurrence. I am totally baffled and not getting much help from the medical profession. Should i be tested for what, i don't know. Help!!

Hi. Im brie and and I am 21 years old. When I was 12, I had gotten hives for the first time. With a lot of grueling tests, I found out I was allergic to peanuts, peanut.oil, and to steer clear of nuts. I am EXTREMELY allergic!! Also, Ive been stressing a lot since Ive been on my own-and that Is a definite cause. When I get hives, depending on the seriousness of them, I take a clariton and take a lukewarm bath. I cant even bathe in hot water anymore because my feet will swell and before I now it im a blotch of red! I also break out if I was outside in the hot sun and come in to the air.conditioning. i also take a cold compress and put it wherever my hives are. They are very very annoying to me! Hope this helps someone!! Ohh yeah, and with the clariton, i make sure to drink a full bottle.of water to get it thru my system faster.

What problems do you face in taking care of your skin?: sensitive skin when I use natural products. I broke-out in hive a lots, and recently I went to the hospital
due to swollen eye and face. Now I don't use anything, because I'm too scared for my life.
Is there anything else we can do to help?: Products that is good for people who
get hives.

I have chronic urticaria and have had so for the past two years. At first none of the antihistamines were providing any relief. I was then informed about phenergan which did work initially (even though it caused extreme drowsiness). For some reason now, it's not responding to phenergan and the only form of relief is 50 grams of aqueous cream with 0.5% menthol. this stuff is fantastic. It is not a cure but it certainly helps.

One morning I woke up to find that my whole body was covered in hives. I havn't been allergic to anything my whole life, and they would go away for most of the night, but once I got out of bed they popped up again. So my home remedy, would be to spray or dab on apple cider vinegar to the affected areas before you go to bed and after. Help a lot with the redness, and as little as a half an hour they start to disappear also try rubbing garlic on yourself before you take a bath. Benedryl helps my swelling, but the Prednisone doctors subscribed me didn't help at all. I'm on my fourth day and they still come, but go away a lot quicker.

Neurologist put me on Topomax, within one week I got something
that looks like small hives on my arms and one leg. I think
it caused it, but not sure.
I was watching dogs, it was hot and maybe the dog rolled in poison ivy, I don't know. He played with me a lot. He could have rubbed up against my arms. But, the scratch I got from him seems minor.
The hives started after taking Topomax about 3 days later. 4 days later I got really itchy.
It is now one week and a half and my arms are covered.
Aside: The doc had me on prednisone which made my arms get bruises easily. So, it's a dual response going on... hives
seem to collect around bruises and grow...
I decided not to take Topamx any more starting last night. I need to get out of this cycle. (Went off 1/4 at a time.)
Took an oatmeal bath and a bentadryl. But, want something to stay awake. I will try another antihistamine.
Oatmeal bath flakes stop itching.
